I'll be uploading something new soon. AFI is an intense and time consuming place. Plus I'm getting used to LA, with all the work and sightseeing I haven't seen many movies. Luckily Ingmar Bergman's hard to find 1976 feature, Face to Face, is finally on DVD here in the US, and I'll be viewing it soon.
One final note, Christophe Honore's Les bien-aimes is in theaters in France right now. According to the Toronto International Film Festival website, the US distributor for the film is IFC, so hopefully we'll get it soon. I'm seriously tempted to fly to Canada mid-September to see this film. The runtime is 130 minutes, about 15 minutes shorter than the screening at Cannes. It got mediocre reviews at the festival, so hopefully this tighter edit will benefit the film.

I've just arrived in Los Angeles. Kind of scary and disappointing. LA is not what is appears in the media. Rundown and shitty seem appropriate.
Regardless, updates might be less frequent this month as I'm preparing for the start of classes mid-August. I apologize to those who read this blog regularly. Rest assured that even if I do one post a month (just a random number, I should be able to manage more) I won't be ditching these writings.

I'm still around! I should post one new article before the month is over.

A lot of new videos have been released of Christophe Honore's newest film The Beloved. I've created a new page dedicated to the film with embedded YouTube videos.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I begin studying at AFI this fall and have to read 8 textbooks before classes begin in August, in addition to watching 20-something films and developing at least 2 scripts. Regardless, updates for a while might be far between. I'm thinking maybe a post a week.
